My Commute to Work
Like many of you I have a full day, with my job, family and chores around the house. It’s often difficult to find time for my passion, photography.
With the arrival of Spring and Daylight Savings Time, I began to notice some photo opportunities during my morning commute to work. I figured that if I left about 20 minutes earlier than normal and did some pre-planning, good things might happen.
Here are the results of yesterday’s commute:
I saw this tree as I was leaving my subdivision. The early morning mist around the base of the trunk was appealing to me. I hoped that I would be able to expose the scene correctly to capture the detail.
Time was a factor so I took a few shots and moved on.
I took these 2 shots at a local park just as the sun was rising. There was mist on the water and fog in the air. The timing was just right so I quickly set up my tripod and fired away.
Happily I was able to get in some photo time and arrive at work as scheduled.
I will definitely use my commute for mini photo shoots again, but maybe there are other ways to fit photography into a busy life.
Please leave me a comment and let me know how you find time to pursue your passion.
Thanks for stopping by.

your welcome and thanks to you also for visiting my blog.. ; )
My first thought was, “This is what he sees on his way to work? I need to work there.” LOL>>> Your photos are beautiful. You captured the moments perfectly. Finding time is always difficult. I grab moments here and there because my schedule is never the same. I try to know what the weather is going to be like the next day so I can prepare and I carry my camera and stuff with me everywhere I go. I’m only a beginner so, I need all the practice I can get and therefore, grab any moment I can find. Sometimes, I’m driving and see something when I waiting for a light change … Grab my camera and shoot away. 😀
Thanks for the comment. You are right, I think the key is to have a camera at all times and to be prepared. I’m going to remember to do that….I really like your Cherry Blossoms story and photos.
Thanks so much … 😀
And …..
Happy Birthday
Thank you … :p
Absolutely stunning!
Thanks so much!
Beautiful! I love the fog in the mornings and the one with the reflection of the tree is my favorite. I have a thing with reflections. 🙂 You definitely live in a prettier place than I do!
Thanks for the comment. It’s not so pretty overall, but I try to find the bright spots when I can.
That’s the sign of a good photographer, can find the beauty in everything. 🙂
